Travelers Among Mountains and Streams — Fan Kuan

A cliff of ink fills two-thirds of the silk, and at its foot a mule train the size of ants picks its way home. Painted around the year 1000 by the Daoist recluse Fan Kuan, it is often called the most revered landscape painting in Chinese art. A tall hanging scroll — prints preserve the full scroll with elegant margins.
