The Gulf Stream by Winslow Homer
The Gulf Stream (1899)
Winslow Homer | American Realism | Oil on canvas
A sailor lies on a broken boat surrounded by sharks and rough waves! A waterspout swirls in the distance while a ship sails far away.
Did you know? When some viewers wanted to know the sailor's fate, Homer sent word that he will be rescued and returned to his friends and home, and live happily ever after! Homer also added the tiny ship on the far left horizon after showing the painting in Philadelphia in 1900.
